Performance Dance at the Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University)

Training skillful, versatile dance artists who are thoughtful collaborators empowered to become the next generation of creative leaders.  The 4-year BFA Dance Program in the School of Performance is the most intensive and comprehensive program of its kind in Canada and has earned widespread respect throughout the Canadian and international dance communities. This conservatory style environment offers rigorous professional training in multiple forms of dance including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, West African, street styles and partnering.  This core training is combined with classes in improvisation, composition, music, acting, film and extensive creative work.  Integrated into the students’ education is a broad selection of specially designed academic studies including history of Performance and Dance, Anatomy, Global Stage and many more. Through our innovative curriculum and plenty of opportunities to perform, students learn and collaborate with highly acclaimed guest artists and major arts organizations.
