Ryerson University

The Dance program is the most intensive and comprehensive undergraduate program of its kind in Canada. Delivered by a faculty with extensive professional experience and a passion for student development, the program has earned widespread respect throughout the Canadian and international dance communities.

In this conservatory style training environment, rigorous daily professional training is offered in four dance disciplines - ballet, modern, contemporary and jazz. Our focus on excellence in all four disciplines is one of the characteristics that distinguishes us from other post-secondary training programs. This is combined with related studies in improvisation, composition, partnering, music, acting, film and extensive creative work. A broad selection of specially designed academic courses are also integrated into the program including history of theatre and dance, anatomy, production, global theatre, entrepreneurship and many more. All courses support our mandate, which is to ensure that our graduates are versatile, open, contributing artists who can advocate for themselves and for the arts as a whole.
